দক্ষিনমুখী ওল্ড কোর্টহাউস স্ট্রীট, কলকাতা, ১৮৬৫
A view of the southern end of Old Court House Street, from the north-east corner of the grounds of Government House, looking towards the Maidan and showing the classical-designed premises of various businesses on the east side of the street.
Photograph was taken by Samuel Bourne in the 1865.

I have seen with much interest your website “Puronokolkata”. You have done an excellent job – what others may have thought about but somehow could not bring to fruition. I am in particular fascinated by the fine collection of old illustrations on Calcutta on your website and brief but very useful commentary. They do give a vivid depiction of Calcutta as it was then and to my mind worth are more than a thousand words. I wish you greater success.
Your kind words brought about more than a sense of contentment. Your approving note is, indeed, very reassuring. Hope, you will find the forthcoming posts enjoyable as well. Warm wishes
